Hey Friends and Fitness Enthusiasts!! How goes it? I hope you are having a spectacular weekend. Since I am actually home on a Sunday, I am going to take advantage of this by linking up to the #WeeklyWrap. This weekly fun is hosted by HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin. I love sharing my weekly activities here as well as reading all the great ways everyone else finds to stay motivated, fit, and happy!
Last weekend, we ran the Rock N Roll Seattle Half Marathon. I have yet to recap that blast of an event but it’s been a busy week 🙂
We flew home on Saturday evening and then spend Father’s Day over at my parents’ house with all the family. It was a wonderful day and also my excuse for not working out on Sunday.
Protein Powered Weekly Wrap
Monday: Rest day
Tuesday: Hubby and I took a nice 5 mile beach run. Later that night, we went to the opening of the Sawdust Festival. It was our first time being there on opening night. It was a great time. We enjoyed meeting and talking to some really cool people. They had a live band and we got to check out all the booths. I love all the unique art, especially the handmade jewelry.
Wednesday: 60 Minute Body Pump class at the gym. I didn’t feel like doing any running or cardio so I opted for the gym instead. It was a nice way to start the day.
Thursday: Hubby and I went on an 8 mile trail run. These runs have become my favorite training runs of the week. I don’t run on the trail very fast. I hike when it gets super steep. I just love how I feel while I out there. As you can see by the pictures, there is no tree coverage of any kind. As the weather gets hotter and hotter, we will start having to get out there earlier and earlier. Puts a crimp in my sleep-all-morning routine but it’ll be well worth it to get up and out first thing.
Friday: 60 Minute Cycle Class at the gym. I love love love this class. It just wears me out and I really like that feeling. A few times, I was wondering if my legs would be even able to drive me home. Here’s my Instagram post for that day:
Saturday: I had an appointment for work in the morning and then got to watch my grand babies while my daughter and her hubby went to a wedding. It was a wonderful day and night of fun and I am also getting better at getting them to sleep. I thought so anyhow. 10:30 pm both of them out! I was proud but for some reason my daughter was not impressed? Anyhow, I guess as far as workouts are concerned, this was a rest day.
Sunday: 60 Minute Core, Cardio & More class at the gym. Today was extra fun because my youngest daughter and my husband joined me for their first time. This class, with this instructor, is pretty intense and non-stop. I am so glad they both enjoyed the class and now we are planning on making this a date. All 3 of us, every Sunday. Sunday Funday!!
Thanks to Fit Approach and Sweat Pink, at the beginning of the month, I was sent a wonderful 4 pack of Bob’s Red Mill Protein Powders. I wrote a sponsored review and hosted a giveaway which you can check out here: How Will You Stay #SummerStrong? Since then, I’ve been mixing up all sorts of fun smoothies after all my workout sessions and/or runs. I thought I’d share my favorites with you. I am really enjoying the chai flavor, maybe the most, but they are all really good and mix easily. I also like the natural ingredients, amount of protein per serving (20g), low sugar (2g) and that all flavors provide fiber (12g) as well.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my weekly wrap of activities. I look forward to seeing what you’ve all been up to!
