Low Mileage High Gymage Weekly Wrap
I guess that may not be a real word but I like it 🙂 After running the Rock N Roll San Diego Half Marathon last weekend, and before running the Rock N Roll Seattle Half Marathon next weekend, I decided to spend more time in the gym this week. It felt wonderful to get back into a Cycle Class, Body Pump, and Core/Cardio Class. I really do enjoy all the classes that my gym offers. I have been a member at 24 Hour Fitness for like 13 years now and I only pay $49 a year. I feel very fortunate to have locked in that rate and I plan on never letting it go. I don’t have access to some of the fancier gyms they’ve been building but I am not really a fancy workeroutter anyhow (yes, that too is most definitely a word).
I am posting today as part of the #WeeklyWrap Hosted by HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin. Click on over to check out how everyone else wrapped up their week. If you are interested in sharing the ways you like to stay active, please join along. You can find all the info here.
I actually felt great on Monday morning after running the half on Sunday. I think it was because I ran at a comfortable pace instead of going out too fast and then adjusting back and forth. I did, though, decide to forgo my Monday run and just do some of the exercises from the Core Envy book I was sent by VeloPress as a perk for being a Rock N Blogger. I love doing these movements and like that I can do them while I’m still in my pjs if I want 🙂
Tuesday I went to Cycle Class at the gym. I love that class!!! I sweat so much and I am just pooped after that hour is up. Great music that night as well. I do so much better if I like the music! I love the rock and the hip hop but the country………I am just glad they mix it up!!
Wednesday I just went to the gym and did my own thing. It was fun but not as fun as a class. I did some elliptical and some weights. That’s about it. I think it was about 1.5 hours.
Thursday I took a Body Pump class. It was a pretty good class and I feel that I worked every one of my muscles.
Friday was actually my first run of the week and we just ran a little over 6 miles through the neighborhood and ended at the beach. It was early evening which was nice because it was cool and breezy.
Saturday was our 33rd Wedding Anniversary and I am pretty sure we got in lots of walking miles. We walked all over Laguna Beach with our youngest daughter, son-in-law, and our youngest granddaughter. It was such a nice day for all that walking. It was overcast and not too hot. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at Urth Caffe before we took off and then we had Jamaican food when we got back. After they went home, hubby and I walked down to watch the sunset, which wasn’t spectacular this particular night, but still romantic <3
Today, which is Sunday, hubby and I went to Core, Cardio, & More class at the gym. It was the first time he’s ever taken a class with me. I was glad to see he felt it was really challenging and he had a good time. It’s my favorite class along with Cycle. It is non-stop action…weights for 3 minutes, cardio 3 minutes, and on and on for an hour. Great sweat!
We will be joining our oldest daughter, her husband, and our other two grandchildren up in Washington this week. We will spend a few days with them in Mukilteo and then we’ll all head down to Seattle for the race.
I am excited about running in Seattle again. We ran it in 2013 and 2014 but skipped last year. I am looking forward to seeing some of you guys there. It seems like so many people I know will be running this one so I am extra happy about that! Let me know if you’ll be there!!
