ShipRockin’ Miami to Costa Maya
Hello My Friends!! I have missed you all in the last couple of weeks! I have been a slacker when it comes to blogging lately but plan to jump right back in….starting now! I am joining our lovely hosts HoHo Runs and MissSippinPiddlin for this week’s WEEKLY WRAP.
This week, I am going to be recapping one of my favorite events of the year SHIPROCKED. We actually got home a week ago but, like I said, I am running a bit behind.
I didn’t give up the run while I was away. In fact, one of my favorite things about vacationing is running in new areas.
We arrived in Miami on Friday, Jan 15. It was raining and windy but our room wasn’t ready for us so we took a nice 5 mile walk just to check out the area. We stayed at the Room Mate Loud Balfour Miami Beach. It was a super cute, unique, hotel. In fact, Miami Beach is filled with these cute hotels. I was happy with our choice. It is located in South Beach’s Art Deco District. We hung out with some new friends that were also getting ShipRocked.
Saturday morning, we took a wonderful 7.5 mile run through South and North Beach areas. We also ran over to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. It was beautiful. Running is such a great way to check out a new city.
Sunday, we took off in a different direction to run into the city of Miami. This was a nice run except that the bridge we thought we’d take back was closed so we just back-tracked. This day we ended up running 13.4 miles.
Sunday evening was our pre-party held at the Clevelander Hotel. The Dead Deads, Lukas Rossi, and Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger of Halestorm all performed and were all amazing. The party was a blast and we met some fun people that we ended up seeing a lot during the cruise. It was a nice way to get this party started!
Monday morning, we boarded the ship and our ShipRocked adventure began! There are shows all day and night and so many ship activities. If I could have gone without any sleep at all, I would have done every single one of them. We did manage to see almost every single concert (everyone plays twice throughout the week) and also went to most of the meet & greets.
We only had one day in port and this year’s stop was Costa Maya. It is so beautiful there.
Needless to say, I canNOT wait until ShipRocked 2017!
Enjoy the week ahead!
