I am still out of town as I write this. We will be driving home after we check out of our hotel here in Las Vegas. We came here because I needed a concert fix. The show was Saturday night but we began our little excursion on Wednesday morning.
Wednesday: We decided to get to Vegas by way of Laughlin. We drove up to Laughlin, NV to spend a couple days with our youngest daughter and her husband. We stayed at Harrah’s because it’s right on The Colorado River. Once we got in, it was already early evening so we ate and did a bit of gaming. We ate at Guy Fieri’s El Burro Borracho. It’s Harrah’s newest restaurant and a definite improvement to the hotel. The food was really good and the service was great. I will definitely eat there next time I am in town.
Thursday: We drove over to Bullhead City and rented a patio boat and jet ski and spent the day in Lake Mohave. It was beautiful out there. During the summer it’s usually well over 100 degrees out there but this week was mild….high 90s.
Friday: Even though we swam around the lake all day on Thursday, we knew we were in definite need of a run so we took off down the strip (along The Colorado River) for an 8 mile run. It was difficult at first, breathing that hot, dry, air but we got used to it. It was sort of a nice change from the moist air we’d been running in at home lately, but it was dry. #desertrunning We ran from the hotel to the damn.
Saturday: After having breakfast with our daughter and husband, they drove home and we took off to Vegas. This time, we stayed where we’ve never stayed before – Rumor Boutique Hotel. We only stayed here (I’m still here) because it is right across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino which is where our concert was and their rooms were all sold out by the time we tried to get rooms. The Joint, the venue at the Hard Rock, is one of my favorite concert venues where I’ve seen many shows. This show was FFDP, Papa Roach, and In This Moment.
These bands are a few of my favorites so I really really enjoyed myself. Hubby, was OK, but it’s not really his cup of tea. #goodsport My concert pictures did not come out very good but I did get a shot of FFDP tour bus which I thought was pretty cool. The other picture was taken by one of my new ShipRocked/FB friends. She was in the pit.
Sunday: We chilled in our room for a while then we headed out to the strip to play a few slots. We always go check out the garden are at the the Bellagio. They change the decor all the time so it’s always nice to see what’s new.
Anyhow, that brings us to today….the beginning of a new week. We will be heading out for our 5 hour drive here shortly. This upcoming week it will be necessary for me to get back into my normal workout routine. As you can see, I kind of played more than I worked out last week.
