Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon
May 25, 2015
The Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon is a wonderful race and great way to start the day!
Let us always remember the men and women who gave their lives while selflessly serving this Nation.
This race is run in honor of the United States Marine Corps Dark Horse Battalion.
The Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon course begins at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and finishes at the Laguna Hills Community Center. It is a point-to-point course. You can easily park your car at the start line and there are school buses available post-race to take you back. The course takes you through Laguna Woods, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel and Laguna Hills. Running through the rolling hills of Aliso and Wood Canyon Park is both scenic and challenging. There is also a 10K and a 5K that both start with the half marathon at 7:00 and kids races that start at 9:30….something for everyone!
It was a wonderful run with my husband and also fellow Eagles – Go Team RWB!
I did make my goal of sub 2, (too close for comfort!), with a 1:59:12 and placed 6th out of 51 in my division.
There was plenty of post-race fun including a kids run. My 3 year old grandson loves this race. This was his 2nd year running it. The bounce house was also a big hit with him.
There was also a Beer Garden, Food Trucks, and a DJ!
