This week’s optional topic: Five Trips to Take or Have Taken
I have got to start with the vacation that is still fresh on my rocking mind!
#1 ShipRocked 2015
This trip was the ultimate cruise for a Runnin’ Rocker! Just thinking about it makes me start counting the days until Shiprocked 2016!! Picture it. Cruise. Bahamas. 30 hard rock performers playing various shows on the ship and on the island all day and night. I know right?! Too awesome! Anyhow you can read about it all right here on my Shiprocked Review \m/ also covering the post cruise trip to Key Largo and Key West….both wonderful places to visit!
#2 Europe 2014
This was the first time I had been anywhere in Europe. We started with London, then off to Paris, then to Rome and Florence, then back to London. I am bummed that I didn’t have a blog going then because it would have been nice to have a better accounting of all the cool things we got to do and see. We went the day after Christmas and spent over 3 weeks there. It was wonderful celebrating New Year’s Eve in Paris! We covered all the touristy things we set out to see including Castles, Museums, Basilicas, The Colosseum, The Vatican, Arc De Triumph, Jim Morrison’s grave, just to name a few. I got to try my hand at speaking a little Italian (I am 1/2 Italian) as well as French. I was horrible at both but had fun trying.
#3 Liveaboard Dive Boat
Great Barrier Reef/Coral Sea 2014
This was definitely the ultimate experience for a hardcore scuba-diver such as my husband. They would dive all day and even at night. He dove with sharks and Potato Cods that were bigger than he. As the only non-diver on the boat, I completely enjoyed myself as well. I could barely stay awake during the days it was like I was being lulled by the motion of the ocean. The water was just beautiful and peaceful. When we came back to land, we stayed on Trinity Beach for a week, not far from Cairns where we docked (Queensland). This was the only time I was ever in Australia and will definitely go back any chance I get!
#4 New Orleans 2013
This trip was by far my most foodie trip ever! I loved ever single thing I ate. All my favorite foods. In fact, last weekend, I served Jambalaya for Easter dinner – that’s how much I love it! We were there for the Rock N Roll Half Marathon. Again, I didn’t have a blog back then. Bummer. I can’t believe what a great diary/photo album a blog can be! Anyhow, the half marathon course took us down that really cool street with all those really cool houses. Oh and Bourbon Street!! What a place for an after-party!! Woohoo – it’s completely crazy-fun down there! We were there for 8 days. I am not even sure how I ran that half marathon on such a full tummy!!
#5 Boston Bound 2015 (next week)
This last one here has yet to happen. We will be hitting the skies to Boston next week. My husband qualified to run The Boston Marathon! We are so excited! It will be our first time in Boston.
He started running half marathons in 2012. He fell so hard for running that he quickly started running fulls and here we are…going to Boston baby!!! Our family is also joining us on this wonderful adventure so we are extra excited!! Obviously, there will be a recap to follow! Also looking forward to meeting the guys behind ChafeX Anti-Chafing Cream. They will have a booth there and are the coolest guys. Speaking of which….my giveaway is still going until April 14.
