RUNNIN’ AND ROCKIN’
EQUALS ONE HAPPY RUNNINROCKER!!
You know I love my concerts. I can’t get enough. I am so grateful that my husband still plays along with me, even after all these years. One of my favorite places to see live music is in Vegas. It’s just the perfect place. You can be all amped up after the show and have plenty to do the rest of the night! I love that Vegas doesn’t have a closing time!
We drove up to Vegas Thursday night for the Friday night show. We usually stay somewhere different every time we visit Vegas. This was the first time we stayed at the newly rehabbed Delano. Two thumbs up!! It’s part of the Mandalay Bay and is connected to their casino, restaurants, and shopping. It’s also near the monorail, although we usually walk everywhere we go.
The concert was Friday night at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino at The Joint. This is a great place to see a show! It’s not a huge venue so most seating areas are perfect and there’s plenty of general standing area.
I’ve seen all these bands before except for the opening band. Nothing More. They were outstanding! The energy was amazing! I always think that those people who come only in time to see the headlining bands really miss out! They did this awesome drum set that was so cool I need to see it again!
My pictures during the entire night we not that good but I’m going to post them anyhow!
After Nothing More, was Hellyeah. Hell Yeah for Hellyeah! Always so much fun and who doesn’t love Vinnie Paul right??!!
Next up………..VOLBEAT. I’ve seen them quite a bit in that last couple of years. I wasn’t a huge fan when I first heard them, I mean I liked them but I wasn’t super obsessive like I usually am, but once I started going to their shows…..well….they are way good live!
Final band of this show…..Five Finger Death Punch! Ivan Moody, Zoltan Bathory, Chris Kael, (2014 Golden God Best Bassist Award) Jason Hook, whom I have decided is the best dressed rocker, and Jeremy Spencer, (wearing an awesome skeleton costume all night) put on another amazing show!
I love seeing all my favorite bands live. There’s just so much energy and excitement during the show. I’m never ready for it to be over but fortunately, just like my half marathons, I ALWAYS have another one lined up to look forward to!
Although I did not make it to the hotel gym, I did wear my Fitbit to the show. Between jumping up and down during the show, walking around afterwards and back to our hotel, I did managed to rack up 10,000 steps! \m/\m/ ROCK ON!
We checked out on Saturday because we were originally going to drive straight from Vegas to Los Angeles for the RnR Half Marathon. Upon waking Saturday morning, and lingering around, we decided we probably wouldn’t make the Expo in time so we drove home instead, (after a bit more gambling). I don’t flake out very often, but once it a while, it’s fun!
Feeling guilty about missing the race, Sunday morning, we decided to take a nice 10 mile run along the coast and it was fabulous! In honor of the missed race though, I did wear my last year’s RnR Los Angeles shirt 🙂
This was seriously the best way to end a Rockin’ Weekend! Hope you’re all rocking your week!
