CARNIVORES TOUR- LINKIN PARK, THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS, AFI
As you probably figured out, today’s post is in regards to my other passion – concerts! Last night Linkin Park and Thirty Seconds to Mars brought their Carnivores Tour right here to Orange County’s Irvine Verizon Amphitheater.
I bought these tickets later than I usually like to so my seats we just OK, not great for picture-taking though. We were a little late getting to the venue so we only caught the tail end of AFI. From what I heard, they sounded good. I snapped this shot on the way to my seat. I don’t like missing any of the bands I was just running late yesterday.
I hadn’t seen Thirty Seconds to Mars for years. I was anxious for them to hit the stage and they did not disappoint! They played many songs from their 2013 album Love Lust Faith + Dreams. After their almost 2 hour set, they signed copies for us (pictured below with Takis). Jared Leto, singer and song writer (also an actor, director) puts on an energetic show dancing around the stage even venturing into the crowd!
I also had not seen Linkin Park for years. In fact, last time I saw them was also in Irvine must have been around 2007 because it was their Minutes to Midnight (#5) that had just come out. Anyhow, their 9th album, The Hunting Party, just came out this summer. They played a few songs from the new one but played mostly crowd favorites from prior records. My favorite album up until now has been Hybrid Theory their first one from 2000. I am a huge fan of the way Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington’s voices and styles are so different from each other but sound so good together. It’s a great mix and has always kept them from sounding like anyone else. Their show was awesome. Loved the drum solo…always love a great drum solo!
